The First Girl Pitcher

In the year 1931 The great depression hit Chattanooga, Tennessee a lot of people lost their jobs. One of the only things that put a smile on people’s faces was to go to a baseball game. Something was different about this. On April 2, 1931 for the first time in history a girl was going to pitch at a major league game! That girls name was Jackie Mitchell. At the age of seventeen she was starting pitcher on the Chattanooga, Look Outs. That game the Look Outs were playing the New York Yankees. That ment that she was going to have to pitch against some of the best players in the league. Those players are Babe Ruth, and Lou Gehrig. When Babe Ruth came  up to bat she got to two strikes on him.Babe was so blown away that he asked the umpire to check the ball but the ball was fine so she did one more pitch and struck out Babe Ruth. Then the second person came up  too bat and that was Lou Gehrig. She struck him out too! She amazed many people that day. She is the reason why we have softball today! She shows that girls can do anything even when a lot of people think they can’t.

That One 2014 Memory That I Will Never Forget

One weekend we went to Dallas. It was my birthday. My whole family came and since it was my birthday my friend Mollee got to go with us.
The weather outside was really cold and humid so that men’t that we couldn’t go to Hurrican Harber like we planned so my mom said were going to go to Six Flags instead. When we first got there the first thing me and Mollee wanted to go ride was the Shock Wave. When we finally got to the ride that’s when Mollee told me that she had never rode a roller coaster before.Thank goodness my mom was there and she told Mollee that roller coasters are not as scary as you think. There more fun than anything. So Mollee got on with me and we where in the sixth seat all the way in the back.It ended up that she loved it so much we rode Shock Wave ten times in a row!The first time that Mollee ever rode a roller coaster is a moment that I will never forget from 2014!I’m looking forward to 2015 because we are going to go to Six Flags again and Mollee might get to tag along with us.We might even try and ride the Texas Giant next time.Wish us luck!
